Bronze Fabrication

Project Description

An introduction to digital bronze fabrication, where I learned the process of lost wax casting. I also used 3D printing technology to create the initial forms before casting them in bronze — combining traditional craft with contemporary digital fabrication methods.

Process

The lost wax casting process involves creating a wax model, encasing it in a ceramic shell, then melting out the wax and pouring molten bronze into the void. By integrating 3D printed forms into this workflow, I was able to explore complex geometries that would be difficult to achieve through traditional hand sculpting alone. The result merges digital precision with the rich material quality of cast bronze.
